Default STARLOG Magazine

I use to read Starlog Magazine when it first came out in June 1976. I still have the first issue somewhere in very poor condition. I first read about some obscure movie called "Star Wars" a year before it played, I read it for a few years, got married and I did not have the exrta cash to purchase the 'zine' any more.

I wonder if it's still in print?

Anywho, I found a plastic coated 33 1/3 RPM recording of sound effects I got from Starlog and sadly I don't have a phonogragh or record player to play it on. It would be cool to find a way to play this novelty.

I haven't seen Starlog in a long time. The final print issue was April 2009 according to Wikipedia.

Dan,

I have a USB turntable that I got to convert my albums to digital. Unfortunately, the CD burner on my computer is toast but if you have a flash drive, I could copy it to that.

I probably won't see you before the April launch in Amesbury but if you think of it, bring it along.

I started buying Starlog with issue number four. I MIGHT still have it around. Just maybe.

I was a devoted reader for many years. Also of FUTURE, a more science-fact spinoff.

But I really lost faith in the zine when it promoted each and every SF movie as something amazing. So many of them turned out to be horrible turkeys! And many more never made it past the concept phase.

So to bring back an old post, Starlog is now online for free.
Unfortunately, it is not in order of it's sale.
They are in random order.
What the heck!

I’d buy a occasional issue of Starlog but usually just flipped through it at the magazine rack at Waldenbooks - reading through issue 1 was a real blast from the past! I wonder if Spielberg’s remake of When Worlds Collide would’ve been an improvement on the original? His War of the Worlds certainly wasn’t 😉
