Default Stuff Other Than Rockets... RC Aircraft

I know that some of you are also "wing and prop" enthusiasts, as I am. I stumbled on this plan site for model aircraft a few weeks ago, and thought I'd share it. It's been fun downloading a bunch of plans that actually require building something rather than just opening the box and bolting it together.

Wow, good stuff!

I see plans for some of the earliest C/L models, I built. Berkely Dauntless, Veco Chief, Nobler.

Back in the early 70's the Andrew's H-Ray was the "almost official" trainer at the R/C club I belonged to.

Probably better than 70% of the members owned one. It was tough and could withstand those controlled crashes that we called "landing".

There's a bunch of stuff I recognize from my "first shift" at a LHS back in 1980, so it's been a froody trip back to my early adulthood...

I'm still waiting for a plan that I built a kit from back in the mid-70's. It's a VECO Cub, FF, with a 36" wing. Today's miniaturized equipment and electric outrunners would make it a practical park flyer.

Here is another site for plans. There are a lot of FF plans from the 30's & 40's that I'm sure would be great to use with todays miniature R/C equipment.

If you like building then I recommend anybody Thayer Symes plans. I built his J-2 from plans and I would endorse the kit from Peck-Polymers. It is sufficient in span to support the current brick receiver and servo from Spektrum and a smaller brushless in-runner.
