Actually I negotiated with Randy to buy as many as he could with the existing parts stock so he could start fresh in a couple years after focusing on actually profitable products. By buying a whole bunch all at once and having a multiyear exclusive he is relieved from a super labor intensive kit and I get to be the guy that keeps the price down to "normal" despite auction sites on OOP products.

I hear sometime later in the year 2020 Estes may offer a version of their own Saturn 1B. I have spoken to lots of folks that for whatever reason prefer the Semroc version. I have them. At least for another year.

I get lots of really nice thank you notes on this one. People love the kit.

Quick update. I still have plenty of Semroc Saturn 1B's and I re-estimate I will have them for a year or so still unless there is a sudden rash of 4 kit orders. I also wanted to share a note from today.

$129.95 + $12 ship. Paypal is info@usrockets.com. Friends and family has no fees. You can pay after receipt if you want. It is packed and ready to ship. CA is in lockdown so I am guessing it will ship by USPS in the next 2 days. We normally use Fedex Ground, but the Feds are in charge now.

Thanks! I sincerely hope I have made your life a tiny bit nicer by having it.

Jerry

I am not going to post what he said, but let's just say thank you.

Jerry,

The Semroc Saturn 1B scale is 1:70, so it’s a really nice, large kit. It is also the same scale as the Apogee 1B kit, so builders can elect to buy the nice plastic Apollo Capsule kit for their Semroc kit. (I did, but have not started building it yet.)

The Estes Saturn 1B kit coming later will be 1:100 scale, the same scale as the Estes Saturn V kits. So, it really should not compete. If anything, most scale enthusiasts would want both. A huge 1B, and a smaller 1B to display nicely with their Estes Saturn V. (Well, maybe not most, but I have multiple Estes Saturn 1B and Saturn V kits. And a 1:100 Little Joe II kit. And the newer large LITTLE Joe II kit. I also have the Apogee Saturn 1B kit. And I plan to buy the Saturn V Skylab kit recently shown at NARCON.

May I live long enough to finish all my Saturn and Apollo Program kits.

He still has a few, but he lost his US Rockets website for whatever reason. Pay after you receive. He calls it "insta-ship".

Contact him at 01rocket@gte.net

I got another from him about 3mos ago.
Priced reasonably for a kit that was victim of discontinuation at the new but NOT IMPROVED Semroc.
