Nelson will no doubt be a huge supporter of NASA since KSC is in his home state and that he flew on a shuttle back in the mid-80s just before the Challenger disaster. As an ‘old school’ space guy, he will no doubt push very hard to continue SLS. And with NASA near and ear to him, he may ‘push’ the agency more for relavency than someone else who is purely a political appointee with no past connection or passion for NASA. But whether he can keep the funding coming for SLS may be a bit of a challenge, what with it costing soooo much. I would say one failure or significant setback at this point may doom the entire program. But with so much spent so far, I for one would like to see it at least make it to manned status and attempt at least one landing. I’d really hate to see THIS much investment and not achieve at least that. Earl
