Aww, c'mon noww. Glue the tower on.
Half the fun of scale NASA types is flying and recovering without a busticated tower. The other half the fun is REPAIRING BUSTICATED TOWERS.

A friend w/ a laser cutter made the 1/45th ALJII display base (original files were posted on Facebook). I asked him to scale it down for this model and here is the prototype. It needs some tweaks (a few of the members, when scaled down are just too thin to sand without breaking).
Here is a pic of it and a side-by-side w/ the larger version. |
