OK, I'll ask...

What do you have planned for this nose cone, Dave? Something scale, I hope?

Wolf,

I thought you would have known better, by now, but it seems not.

The only thing it took was having a civil, private conversation with Peter.

I am not going to have any more off-topic "conversations" in this thread. See you , elsewhere.

I will reveal that, after I am in possession of the item.

That was already done, very early on in the thread.

At the risk of getting this thread back on-track...

I have the remains of a 4" V2 (Polecat if I recall correctly) that met a bad end (chute release don't, and then it impacted on an asphalt road). I'm reasonably sure the nose cone is still in good shape. I'm sure it's significantly heavier than the same size blow molded Estes version.
IF someone is interested in it I'll go dig it out of the junk box and compare the nose cone to my Maxi V2 to see if they are compatible.

Thanks for the offer . . .

I'm pretty sure that it is made for a thick-wall HPR tube, however.

It is for thick wall tubing. I can't remember but the tip may be rounded a bit too. If you are wanting to keep it light, the Estes cone will be better in that realm too, by a considerable margin.

I apologize that this thread has sometimes gotten into a hissing match. I will deal with Dave to see if we can conclude a deal. I, too, would like to know the end purpose for the cone. Want it to go to a good home and a useful purpose.
Dave - cool your jets. I have real life stuff going on. I will get to you when I can. It is only a hobby.
If I had known there would have been interest, I would have put it on eBay.

For your enjoyment, the reissue nose cone and the vintage original. The instructions have you drill a hole in the reissued cone's base and thread a line between it and the large hole where the blow molding threads were. For those of you keeping score at home, the still stuck BT-101KJ is 10.5" (267mm) in length.
