Centuri Zebra II Payloader Scans
Bernard -
Below are the scans for the Zebra II. As you mentioned in your last message, yes this kit is from Estes parts. I can post the instructions too if you want, but they are the same as the ones here on Scott's site. The attached scans of the fins, decals, and tube marking guide do include a ruler. Earl

Fantastic, Earl. Thanks!!!
Hopefully, as blackshire would say, this information will be useful for others as well. Added: neither the post on YORP or yours give the dimensions of the launch lug standoff. One can certainly get pretty close given the length of an LL-2B and the difference in radii between BT-20 and BT-50. I'm not (usually) an obsessive cloner that worries about those sorts of details, but including the launch lug standoff in the fin scan would be a nice addition. Now I need to see if I have a TA2050A in my parts stash or if this is the excuse for an order from eRockets. I'm pretty sure I have the rest of it, or can cut tubes to be the correct lengths.

Oh, poo! I don't see the launch lug stand off in the balsa 'debris' in the bag. And I did not scan it when I scanned the other parts...looks like I forgot that item. However, looking at the kit instructions (and launch lug and tube dimensions as you alluded to), pretty good estimate is that it's about .25" high, 2.0" long on the short side, and 2.5" long on it's 'base' (allowing for .25" extension on both ends of the base). Cut angle from base to top on each end looks to be about 45 degrees. I can verify tube lengths. BT-20 is 8 5/8ths" long (and it is a BT-20, not thicker Centuri ST stuff). Payload tube is 2 3/4" long of BT-50. Earl

Looks good, Bill.
Was this a 1981/1982 design during the transition to "combined with Estes" ? I don't remember this one.

Knew it must have been one of the late designs using Estes parts.

Here's the page from the Centuri 1983 catalog featuring the Zebra II. The Firebird listed beside it was new that year too.
I have yet to get a Firebird; one of just a few Centuri kits I have not been able to locate so far. If anyone has one they want to part with (the Firebird that is), let me know. Earl
