I have about 40 Blue Spruce left which have been dying about 3-4 per year. They are around 50 years old and were planted close together. A standing dead one fell in the storm on Halloween so many are a hazard. I’ve spent thousands on getting around 20 removed and can’t keep doing that. They are around 40 feet tall and range from 8 to 18 inches in Diameter. I can reach all of them with three extension cords so a good electric saw is a possibility but the cord seems annoying. I need
To work for hours so an electric cordless is out. The guys who came out to do the other trees were using a Stihl 193 and 201 which are pretty expensive.

Any recommendation for a saw that could fell these and cut them into manageable size, a job that would be done over the next few years?

Skip the electric nonsense, get a 20" Stihl Farm Boss. They are pricey, but the one I have has taken down over 100 ash trees in the last four years (killed courtesy of the emerald ash borer (thank you China!)).

It runs like a champ, but make dang sure you use NON-ETHANOL gasoline for it. I get mine for mixing at the local airport in Joliet. The gasoline you get now with 10% ethanol will ruin the engine.

We have a 20" Stihl Farm Boss also.
Can't say enough good things about it.
Make sure to run good pure synthetic oil in the fuel.
Stihl's oil is awful.
Get Klotz Super Techniplate pre-mix oil and run it 50:1

Yep. Same oil.
Compatible with gasoline, alcohol, and nitromethane.
I run it in everything that requires pre-mix. In my RM250, I run it 32:1, model glow engines 20% or 5:1. Everything else, 50:1.
Smells great too.

Nothing like the smell of Klotz. They sell (or used to sell) Klotz Techniplate smelling candles on Amazon. Also, nothing beats the smell of nitro, till you can't see anymore due to your eyes watering!
