Astra's Rocket 3.1 launch campaign
Hello All,
The Alameda, California-based Astra https://astra.com/ has announced their next orbital launch campaign at the Pacific Spaceport Complex – Alaska (PSCA: https://akaerospace.com/spaceports/ ) on Kodiak Island. The launch attempts, of their Rocket 3.1 truck-transported-and-prepared satellite launch vehicle, will occur “between August 2 and 7, a six-day launch window that will be open from 11:30 AM to 3 PM [Alaska Time—that’s 3:30 PM to 7 PM EDT, or 1930 to 2300 GMT] each day” (as *this* https://www.alaskapublic.org/2020/0...-rocket-launch/ article says). Also: Here (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-FENTJF5TE ) is a hotfire video of Rocket 3.1, and *here* (see: https://spaceflightnow.com/2020/07/...aska-spaceport/ ) is a SpaceFlightNow article about the upcoming launch campaign. The powered ascent of this small, two-stage, kerolox (LOX/kerosene)-powered rocket should be visible from Anchorage and Fairbanks, weather permitting, and YouTube www.youtube.com and SpaceFlightNow https://spaceflightnow.com/ should carry the countdown(s) and launch live online, as they did for Astra’s launch campaign at PSCA in February https://spaceflightnow.com/tag/astra/ (Astra’s earlier test vehicles’ flights were also covered here). I hope this information will be useful.
