Latest talk in Michigan is that no students (elementary/middle/high/collegiate) will be returning to campuses this school year.

I've been tracking the total number of cases per country per day for a few weeks. I get the data from WHO and CDC and plot it up in big Excel graphs. Looking at the curves one can tell the difference between countries like South Korea and Japan where their best efforts appear to be making a difference, and countries like Italy and Spain where the outbreak appears to be completely out of control. Once the outbreak takes off, the day-to-day increase in sick people is a linear. Based on what I see, we could see something like 8000 total cases in seven days. Being an optimist, I predict less than 7000, and we're not going to see 150,000 cases by the end of the month. I hope that we're going to be able to slow down the spread of the disease like South Korea did.

Plans are on the table to close the highways in Ohio. I got on a list of authorized drivers that we submitted to DHS. I have no idea what's going to happen.

Yeah, I am afraid it will be coming to that across the entire land.

My gut feel is that, behind the scenes there is a push, even as we speak, to push for an entire, country-wide lock down. Too many folks, sadly, are too focused on their own fun and hedonism to curtail their personal interactions. This is essentially happened in Italy, where the Prime Minister specifically pointed out the young folks who simply could not stop congregating in bars and such, passing the virus back and forth to each other and then talking it home to the rest of their family. They finally had to lock down the entire country to finally get folks to take this seriously.

I wonder at times whether many folks are even capable of staying home for more than a single day without having to get out and administer entertainment to their life-long ADD self (no hurt intended towards those who are true sufferers of that condition).

Bottom line, too many Americans are so used to being entertained and amused 23.75 hours out of a day and are ready to pout like little babies when they can’t get their way.

I will be happy and thrilled to see the masses prove me wrong.

Yes, I hope you are right. I pray you are right. But, barring a miracle, we will be at about 10,000 by Thursday it appears. The growth just grows from there. Now, the big question I guess even in the expert’s minds are, when will our containment efforts start to show results? I think the most informed estimates are saying multiple weeks before we might see a leveling off at best.

What we will see I guess is the $64,000 question. I do think it will be a number none of will like at all, and that we will have to move to even more confinement measures for longer than we had hoped to reign this thing in.

They can GET BENT.
Go ahead and try that crapola in Michigan. Ain't NO WAY, NO HOW.
A bona-fide RIGHTEOUS RIOT would ensue.
Ammo has been flying off shelves faster than toilet paper.

On a serious note, these numbers freak me out. And I just saw pictures of all the Spring Break’ers in Florida.

It's probably going to be more of a curfew or a travel restriction, at first. Enough to get you riled up, but probably not enough for you to become unhinged.

The first confirmed case in our county was a college student coming back from spring break.
I suppose if you are young you can take the nothings going to spoil my fun attitude. I read somewhere that hashtag boomer reducer is trending in the twitter world.

Here ya go: https://www.cnn.com/videos/health/2...rus-mxp-vpx.hln

It looks though as if many other traditional spring break areas are 'canceling' their spring break activities. Some people ya just gotta bonk on the head....
