The only thing I can figure is they are listing these for someone in particular to purchase with a ‘best offer’ price. The ‘insane’ Buy It Now of $999 is there to ensure that no one else purchases it before the ‘intended’ buyer sees it and makes the best offer.

Makes perfect sense!

Just listed tonight starting at $39 and already it is 'off to the races'. But again, this particular Electro-Launch (Phantom version) does not show up every day.

I hesitated to put this in the ebay 'silliness' thread, because basically (barring glaring stupidity) how someone bids/spends money is really their own business. But I thought it might be interesting to see how high this one ultimately climbs.

Yeah, but there are all those hassles about establishing a distribution network and the dubious legalities.

I've often been amazed by the unrealistically insane asking prices for some items on sites such as Ebay and Amazon (like a bottle of hot sauce for $500 IIRC), and -- supply and demand economics aside -- have genuinely wondered if some of the sellers were thus engaged in a form of money laundering.

Either money laundering or supplying something "Extra" with the indicated item

While "Scuds" regularly sell for roughly $100, this is dumb: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3136956690...AAOSw5blhV8F 9

Add the Scud to the list of kits I'd like to see brought back. I'm not sure Estes has the stones to do a "bad guy" missile any more! (V-2 notwithstanding).

"Bad guy" missiles and aircraft are TURDS.
The ONLY way they should be kitted is in a destroyed/shot down/mangled/sabotaged/mutilated status. Really.

1. I spent my second tour in the Air Force as a scientific and technical intelligence analyst at what is now called the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. My area of emphasis was Chinese ballistic missiles. Our task was to assess the capabilities and limitations of foreign weapon systems. Sadly, I can assure you there are plenty of non-US weapons out there that are anything but "Turds." Some are in friendly hands, some are not.
2. Only a fool sticks their head in the sand and assumes all things American are always "the best of the best." That kind of thinking can be fatal. Aggressor Aerospace takes its name from the Aggressor fighter squadrons in the Air Force and Navy. They paint their jets like our adversaries, and "fight" using adversary tactics - all in the name of making OUR forces better, ready to fight . (Note, my first active-duty "sponsor squadron" when I was an ROTC cadet was an Aggressor squadron at Nellis AFB, NV).

Aggressor Aerospace exists because I wanted to share with others some of the more interesting models I was building for my own use. I do have some US prototypes in mind - just more ideas than I have time to make. But I also hope these kits - all of which have been non-US to date - open some minds to the world of missiles and SLVs that exists beyond our shores. There is SO much out there!

Alas, some minds can never be opened.
