The Tech-Pack kit has been around for a while.
I put one together in 2014 - but it goes back before that.
Not easy to roll your own tube.

While we can all appreciate the simple elegance of a ready-made paper tube, there are several pretty compelling reasons to roll your own. Just offhand, rolling your own from paper, FG, carbon, or whatever is a satisfying challenge.

Speaking as a scale modeler, I appreciate the fact that I can roll a glass tube with exactly the right OD for an application. There are all sorts of unusual mandrel sizes here in my workshop.

For modellers who might just be interested in how to do it, or for someone who needs to make a custom size tube this might be a good exercise.
From an economics viewpoint it doesn't make much sense because the thick cardboard mandrel supplied with the kit probably costs more than the thin paper tube that it's used to form.
Anyhoo, I got a kick out of building it.

+1 to what mojo just said above.
Give us bring-backs from the early 70's to mid 80's, not this bunk/guff/hawgwarsh.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't
