Black Brant VIII
A prototype I’m rather fond of is the Black Brant VIII, a two-stage sounding rocket that was produced by Bristol Aerospace. I’ve recently completed an updated scale model of the round that used to be on display at the St. Louis Science Center (which was also one of the prototypes covered in Peter Alway’s ROTW 2002 Supplement), and I thought I’d share with you the details of my build.
The build article is rather long, owing to the fact that it includes a number of detailed prototype photos not seen before, at least not to my knowledge, so Scott has graciously offered to post a link in this thread to download the complete file. I hope you find the prototype photos of interest, as well as the description of my attempt at rendering this colorful two-stage vehicle. Many thanks to Taras Tataryn, Josh Tschirhart and Mike Nowak for their kind contributions to this project. https://www.rocketshoppe.com/info/C...VIII_(V2sm).pdf
