Default SpaceX Inspiration 4 Mission

I recall reading about this mission some number of months ago, but the actual launch date kind of crept up on me without me realizing it.

Wednesday evening around 8 eastern.

"SpaceX is targeting a five-hour launch window on Wednesday, September 15, opening at 8:02 p.m. EDT (Thursday, September 16 at 00:02 UTC) for launch of the Inspiration4 mission – the world’s first all-civilian human spaceflight to orbit – aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Approximately three days after liftoff, Dragon and the Inspiration4 crew will return to Earth and splash down at one of several possible landing sites off the Florida coast."

Yes, and they just launched another load of Starlink sats last night. Meanwhile, Blue Origin spends more time whining about SpaceX than doing anything really cool. Their fart engine is behind schedule, their rocket is a phallic symbol, and their boss is a crybaby.

Looks like things are on schedule for the 8:02pm launch tonight.

...and in orbit, with booster stage safely on the barge.

My wife just came home from work, (She Drives the Sawgrass express way) She comes in the house and say's all excited: I just saw something in the sky, I don't know what it was, it was a fire ball with a yellow tail.
I thought it was a comet but it was going up, and then it disappeared and the it came back on.
I told her: you saw the Space X launch. I had to find the video to show her and now she is hooked.

It would be a really bad day for Earth if a comet showed up in the sky that bright!
Cool that she's now interested.

Totally agree with tbzep's comments about Blue Origin.
They seem intent on spending way more time on WHINING instead of doing cool things.

I was hoping their BE-4 fart engine would be ready on time since they aren't a govt beuroracy, but nope....now Vulcan is behind schedule because of them. Yet SpaceX keeps rolling on.

It really seems to me that there is "Space X" and then everybody else as "also ran" INCLUDING NASA as the amount of current actual accomplishment.

NASA used to be great when they had a nearly unlimited budget, and could be once again (yes I favor them having an unlimited budget like in the Apollo days) but as is now they are just another federal bureaucracy.
