I did read in either a NASA blog post or a media outlet article that NASA did get approval from the Eastern Range personnel on an extension of the cert for the flight termination system. Don't know how long that extension was for though.

...and the rollback will start later tonight.

From NASA:

"NASA will roll the Artemis I Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft back to the Vehicle Assembly Building on Monday, Sept. 26. First motion is targeted for 11 p.m. EDT."

Artemis back in the VAB as of this morning. From the NASA Artemis blog (this is the entire post):

"At approximately 9:15 a.m. EDT, NASAís Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft for the Artemis I mission were secured inside the Vehicle Assembly Building at the agencyís Kennedy Space Center after a four-mile journey from Launch Pad 39B that began at 11:21 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26 ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Ian.

After the storm has passed, teams will conduct inspections to determine impacts at the center and establish a forward plan for the next launch attempt, including replacing the core stage flight termination system batteries and retesting the system to ensure it can terminate the flight if necessary for public safety in the event of an emergency during launch."

The storm has not made it to Canaveral yet.

This may be interesting to watch...

NASA Space Flight has a live stream running showing the exterior of the VAB, current radar plus two other rotating shots.

That's what I'm hearing from the ICPS team at work. Everything points to skipping Launch Period 27 and trying again in LP-28.

Aaaaah. Ok, thanks.

I guess they'll put something out eventually, but it may take a while for them to make a final decision, what with all the storm impacts to pick through, the FTS batteries to change and system recert to do. I was figuring it might be mid-October at the very, very earliest.
