Default 2020 Blues/2021 Resolutions

Comrades:

Let's all just agree that 2020 sucked. I did get to spend more time with SWMBO and the kids because of quarantine and that's mostly good.

But rocketry was a mixed bag: I didn't get to launch at all because the parks are closed, but I did get to build! 3 Tomahawks, Paiute, Zonda II, Frag Arcas, all from scratch, an Empire Nike-Ajax, two Nike-Rams and an Aero Dart from Semroc parts. As for rescues and repairs, a Centuri Saturn 1b is now flight-ready as are a Centuri Screaming Eagle, an Alpha, three Aerobee 300s and TLP Hellfire and PAC-3.

I figure about 120 days more of quarantine. I have a Bio-Arcas and an Aerobee 150 that need paint and parts for a Sparrow-HV Arcas that I'm going to try and gap-stage. On the Russian front, I have parts for a 1/10 SA-2 (thanks to Tbzep for being a smart-aleck) and an half-scale Katyusha with a tail cone courtesy of Gordy's fantastic skillz.

Long term, I'm going to try and finish my 1/10 collection of Rockets of The Americas (baby steps): I need Argentina and, I think, Peru.

And I'm going to do my NARTrek Gold.

So what's the plan for this year?

My current plans for 2021 are fairly modest:

1) Finish my current builds - the Boyce Redstone missile, a Jupiter C PMC, the Estes Olympus, and ERP #46, the Skylance.

2) Build an Astron Delta clone to loft my old Camroc and the new Estes AstroCam.

3) Bulid the Uni-Bird from the American Rocketeer.

4) Attempt another PMC - the Lindberg Mars Probe.

I'll see how far into the year this takes me - there are lots of other builds I would like to do, if I can maintain my motivation and the weather cooperates.

Is this award for a specific wisecrack, or for general smart aleckery?

I never make resolutions. That way I never break them.
I give up lousy food and lousy liquor each year for Lent.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

lol (with an snort)

Tbzep, it was for your post in my Return of the Empire thread about expecting it to be about an SA-2 rather than a Nike-Ajax. You got me thinking and measuring and realized, "Hey, it's doable." I need a custom nose cone from Gordy but I was waiting until after the holidays.
