Default Centuri Little Joe II - Instructions, Face Card, Partial Chrome

Ok, here is what I have at this point on the Centuri Little Joe II 1/100 scans. These are not from a complete kit; rather, they are what I got some years ago in a batch of old Centuri and Estes instruction sheets, most from the late 60s, very early 70s.

Attached are as follows:

* Kit face card

* All instruction sheets

* Decal for capsule and escape tower

* Metallic chrome wrap portions for the fins

Once I open one of my kits, I'll have the scan of the full body wrapper and of the fin stock. Not sure when that will be though.

Earl

Default Related Centuri Kit

Some years back (around 2004 or 2005 I think) I put one of my unopened Centuri UFO Invader kit on the auction block of a rocket forum (that no longer exists, can't remember the name) as I was needing some extra cash at the time. I put the starting bid of the kit at $11.50, which was close to the last published price that I could remember for that kit.

The bidding period was about four days before ending. Bidding was mostly between two interested fellows that went back and forth over those four days. By the time the bidding was over, the winning bid was almost $100 (plus shipping).

Does anyone know what body tube will work as a replacement for the escape tower rocket on Estes 1/45 Little Joe II?

thanks

It is just slightly over ST-5/BT5 sized.
I don't know if a BT6 exists or not....

It should be 0.577" in diameter. The real thing is 26" so multiply that by 1/45.

The part number is 031948.

I'm at work so I can't tell you if they used a BT-5 (o.d. .541) or if they have a custom diameter for it.

It definitely is NOT a BT-5/ST-5. I checked mine. A 13mm engine has about 1mm clearance in it around the entire circumference of the motor.

http://www.erockets.biz/semroc-body-tube-6-12-0-long/

At 0.620" it would be bigger than scale, but possibly peeled. I have used ST-6 for duration birds as a bit bigger than a BT-5, but less than a BT-20. I peel those from the inside.

Chas-
That sounds too big to me.
The tube used in the kit definitely is not "peeled".
Is there such a thing as a BT-5.5 ?

It's bigger than a BT-5, but smaller than an ST-6. A BT-5 will sleeve fit into the tower tube (see pic). I'm thinking it's a custom size. Not surprising since the main body tube at 3.42" is also a custom size.
