Default LTV Scout Kit Num. 1287

Hello,

I recently bought an Estes LTV Scout kit #1287 on Ebay ( I believe it is the Italia version ) "1/24th scale" and I am currently waiting for it to ship. I know this kit has been OOP for some time and I wanted to offer to scan, copy, measure, or photograph anything in the kit that someone may need information on to complete their research, or repair and get their kit flying again. I will probably build this kit before the year is out. So if you need info on specific parts now would be the time to get it. The kit has the light blue labels and is listed on the package as 3-craftsman skill level.

Hope this helps you out.

The plans/patterns are already on http://www.spacemodeling.org/JimZ/est1287.htm .
The most difficult part to reproduce are the non-standard body tubes and plastic parts set.

Yes they are. And usually one of the fin tips breaks off on landing.

There are also re-drawn decals at: http://www.rocketshoppe.com/decals/LTV_Scout.pdf

It's a great looking model though, one of my favorites. Also the favorite of someone else on this site

And the plastic parts from it were used in the 1979 movie "Meteor"

Oh God! We watched Meteor so many time on the sub that we could reenact it with sock puppets.
.........and then came the Meteor pinball machine..................................
