The Fabri-Tac is in the Sewing Dept.

And Krylon UV-Resistant Acrylic Clears are in the Art Dept., and not withthe other spray paints. They are meant for archival use on pictures, paintings, etc. (You didn’t mention this, but I’ve had it come up before when I’ve mentioned the product.)

I haven't found it at Hobby Lobby....but as Lee said, it would be in the sewing department. I got the bottle of Fabri-Tac I have at Joann's Fabric.

The Foam-Tac I actually got at an Ace Hardware store.

added: Hobby Lobby does have a number of other Beacon Adhesives products. This one sounds promising: https://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-H...ft-Glue/p/23989

I learned early on that plastic model cement doesn't work. After having the entire fin assembly come off a Manic I learned not to trust the instructions.

Lately I've been on a restoration kick where I'll buy up peoples old collections and refurbish them. I must tell you that I'm very happy with the fact that most builders back in the day used whatever they had laying around the house and I do appreciate Estes telling builders to user model cement back in the day. It makes my life much easier as the rockets basically pull apart with little to no resistance and most parts can be reused.

For any plastic to plastic or plastic to cardboard connections I use 2 part, 30 min. epoxy or Medium CA and you need to rough up the surface so it has something to bite into.

I assembled and Estes Air Walker 'Beginner' level kit entirely with Fabri-Tac.

It was flown twice on October 17th at Lucerne Dry Lake.

The ground was hard and dry. Both flights carried an Altimeter 2 and used B6-4 motors (I wasn't paying attention and used all the C6-5 motors I brought in other rockets).

Both flights featured full parachute deployment and easy walking distance to pick up.

No damage to the rocket.

I like Fabri-Tac.

Fabri-Tac seems to be the "newest" decent adhesive for this purpose.
Time will tell if it is as good as epoxy for long-term lasting adhesion.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

The only thing listed on Fabri-Tac's MSDS is acetone. (I refuse to call it SDS just because somebody got paid to sit around and decide to drop the M.) Now I'm interested in what's dissolved in it. Keep your Fabri-Tac sealed or you will have a Fabri-Chunk pretty quick!

Foam-Tac is almost the same as Fabri-Tac, but it uses a less "hot" solvent than Acetone, so the foam does not get totally dissolved.

Translation: Doesn't make the room smell as good.

I didn't say thattttt.
Still imparts a decent aroma. I think it uses MEK or Ethyl Acetate.

Which explains why they both seem to work for plastic-to-paper applications in rocketry. I'm also glad, then, that I used Foam-Tac to put the wraps on my 2157 Saturn V. It seems to have worked very well, and was far less stressful or messy than the 3M77 method.

As you say, time will tell how well it holds up.
