Default New Estes Kits

The pictures from the Estes website of Vern's birthday gathering has some interesting background items.

Saturn V Skylab.

Saturn 1B.

Mars Long Ship.

Doorknob (scale model).

Astrocam.

Centurian.

I need to look at these pictures on a bigger screen.

It looks like some neat products for 2020.

Plus a “stretched” MAV called the Colonizer and a nifty chrome finished E2X/RTF using the MAV fins. It looks the Saturn 1b is still under development - it’s partially done and unpainted.

You'd think at least one of Vern's kit designs, or a design that came out while he still owned Estes would be on display at his birthday gathering. Maybe they are on the opposite side of the room.

That said, I'm happy current ownership cares enough to have him come in. BT would have never done that.

Vern designed the Orange Bullet that's on the table.

That sleek spaceship-looking rocket looks nice. Zoomed in I can't tell if the name is "IOW" or "TOW."

The large-ish sort of V-2 shaped orange and white rocket behind the unfinished Saturn 1b is interesting - a new PSII kit perhaps?

Are we going to see the return of the Astrocam as well?

I think that's the Doorknob Bob mentioned. A chunky BT80 two stager would be interesting.

The paint scheme reminds me of the Centuri Bull Dog, but it's not the same rocket. Looks interesting.

Hopefully a new Astrocam will come out with a 1080 video payload without having to tape keychain cams to the side of rockets! If a mirror is used, a simple program or app to reverse the image could be made available without having to use some of the cumbersome video editing software that's out there.

Hmm...an Estes downscale of a LOC Precision rocket...now that’s different!
