That will never happen.

HERESY!

I plan to live long enough to build all my rocket kits!

Are you building them faster than you're buying them?

I decided to put this post here rather than the "ebay silliness" thread, since I think this is pretty awesome (not "silly" at all):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Huge-CENTU...AAOSwKFhfuaS J

I haven't tried to sit down and calculate whether or not this collection is really worth over $3K, but there's some really cool stuff in there! A nest egg for the kids? More stuff to build before we die? Depends on your outlook I suppose!

There are a few selections in this set that are fairly decent, in particular the boxed kits and specifically the boxed Mach 10. That one does not come around very often. The boxed Orion is fairly rare also. The boxed Quasar does come up now and then.

My estimate is this set would be more appropriately valued at around $2000. Most of the kits are latter versions of those kits. The hang tags would indicated the majority are from the late 70s to early 80s.

But, if one were wanting to start a Centuri collection and can get a good price on this set, it is not a bad place to start at all.

There is one kit in the batch I have asked this seller about, but have received no response yet. Not sure whether he is entertaining splitting anything out, at least not yet. But, I suspect he is probably not going to get an offer around the range he is asking.

By the way, there is an "eBay Deals" thread here that I started about 8 years ago or so for folks to post the "good" things on ebay they want to share around with others (as opposed to the "eBay Silliness" thread that gets used a fair amount).

Yes, I follow that thread too. However, while I was sure this "instant collection" was no joke, I wasn't sure this was really a "deal" either (I looked again after posting and I figured this collection was probably worth $1600-$1800). I also threw it in here because there are a few "wish I had one of THOSE in my collection" pangs as I looked through it. This "aging out" thread definitely churned up my own nagging doubts about the future of my collection after I'm gone! I tell myself I wouldn't drop the cash for this collection even if I had that much disposable income - but who am I trying to kid? I almost certainly would

That collection is worth about HALF the asking price; $1500 TOPS.
Nothing super-rare or really old here.
