I've always gone for the cheap and dirty method. Very impressive.

Ditto. The screen capture looks like some kind of a digital ‘loom’! Earl

I enjoy redrawing decals too. I just redrew a bunch of black decals so that I can test out new decal paper on my Canon inkjet. Adobe Illustrator was my favorite tool back in the day, but now I use Inkscape.
I'd love to share some vector-draw patterns for the Estes Cobra 1500, Calypso, and Nike-X that I recently drew. The Nike-X decals includes the "U.S. Army" omitted in the current kit. Also included are roll patterns sized for ST-7 tubing for dolling up Centuri Javelin and Centaur clones. However, YORF considers the SVG file type to be invalid. Too bad.

All you have to do is ask. SVG has been added to the filetypes allowed for attachments. Let's see some of those decals, Wolf! Stan, what format are your vector files saved in?

Scott,
Before we end up with a bunch of files here in the projects section, let's create a nice home for vector art. The files are nice and small and come out very nice when done properly. Stan |

Wolf, It looks like we may need to take a look at our Inkscape settings if we're going to start sharing .SVG files When I open the file that you posted, the text for 'Calypso' and 'US ARMY' come out funny because I don't have the proper fonts installed. We're going to have to start embedding fonts into the files in order to share them properly. <edit> I did some quick research into this and it appears that Inkscape is not capable of embedding actual fonts into the .svg files. It looks like we're going to have to convert text to paths in order to properly share the files. That stinks though because you lose some of the flexibility that way. </edit> Stan |
