Default Stalled Goblin project

I have a fairish collection of Estes Goblins, most picked up with a 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby, and at the moment, none painted yellow. I've had one awaiting sanding since back before the COVID, but I've been a bit disinterested in the project because none of the paint colors appealed to me. Yesterday I was cleaning the shop and found a long forgotten can of spray paint. I bought it several years ago at Tractor Supply, along with a school bus yellow and what may have been an International Harvester red. The one I found is orange. More to the point A.C. Orange. I feel like Doug's grandpa is smiling down on me. The sanding is done and the primer is drying, so I should have something to show for my labors tomorrow, and if things go as hoped, something else to fly on Saturday.

I just fixed a snapped fin on my vintage Goblin yesterday. After a few more repairs I'm going to get the other half of the fleet to the field soon. I got a motor shipment last Friday that included plenty of C5-3's and really want to try them out.

Wink

Comrades:

Pics or it didn't happen.

I'm with you; I've had an unpainted Goblin sitting here for probably 10 years.

I should be able to accommodate later today. We had a power outage last night just as we were warming the oven up for dinner. I got the paint on, but I was busy running the rest of the night until I crashed. We have something in the wall left over from an old security system that makes a horrible, loud noise when the power is restored, and of course it went off just as I was drifting off. It was that kind of night.

Sounds like a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). They will sound an alarm when the power goes out. Weird that it would be encased in the wall though. You should be able to access it somehow because the batteries do fail after awhile and need to be replaced.

Well, it'll be fifteen years next month and it's still going strong.

The Most Terrifying Sound in the World:

Geiger Counter, detecting.

I got mine at the Nuclear Museum in Albuquerque. It needed some work; it works now.
