Question Wanted: Vintage Estes' Engine Hook Info (And Centuri's too)

Looking for some help from our members who have older Estes kits (from the 60s to the early 70s).

I remember that the engine hooks are thinner than the later engine hooks. But I can't find a sample in my local build pile. Could someone check and see if they're 3/32" or thinner?

I'm redoing my sims of the Cherokee-D, and I noticed the thinner hook in the facecard, and I'd like to replicate it.

While I'm at it... I might as well ask for the same info on the Centuri product line (pre-Damon era)

Thanks!
Jim

I had noticed the hooks vary from kit to kit, I admire you attention to detail.

My 1972 Saturn 1B has 3/32" motor hooks, but my 1972 Goblin has a 1/8" hook.

Thanks! I'm hoping to preserve our hobby's history before it's lost forever.

Thanks for that... The date info is very useful.

Yesterday, Gary Jacques on FB did a measurement with an engine hook from a Der Red Max and came up with 3/32". That sparked a memory... I just got my Citation Red Max a few weeks ago. I've put it to the micrometer, and came up with .1035" wide, and .026" thick. I tried to post a reply earlier, but computer problems (slow internet) and personal issues (short attention span/fatigue) got the better of me.

I should add, I still need the Centuri info.

Thanks for Looking! Stay Healthy!!!
