I remember that one! I may even still have that issue of AAM. I'll have to check.

I may have even tried to build one....though I don't recall ever flying it.

I like the little cartoon peace gesture on that second document. I grin thinking back to being just a kid at the turn of the '70s.

I loved those 'For the Tenderfoot' articles: simple hand-launch gliders, rubber band powered planes, Baby Bee free flight. Great stuff!

I was never an AMA member. I joined the NAR and got AAM magazine for as long as it was part of the NAR membership. As a young teenager I couldn't justify spending the extra money for an AMA membership on top of NAR. When 3 rocket motors in a blue tube cost around $1 - 1.50, that membership would have eliminated a lot of rocket flights!

When I was a kid "jap tissue" and I did not get along well, especially on "built-up" construction . . . . So, I never attempted the "Cheechako".
