I finally used it!
It's been sitting on my bench, unused, for several years but today out of necessity I finally used my David Micro Plane!
The supplied half-round conduits for the LTV Scout I'm working on were WAY too thick, and rather than spending hours sanding them thinner I tried the Micro Plane on a scrap piece and I was successful (partially due to the Herculean thighs.) After "The Vixen" got the bleeding to stop I tried it on the actual long half round for the model's booster. Now I just need to sand some concavity into the flat side of the half round. YAY! I learned a new skill!

Looks like that little plane helped a great deal. I built one of those about three years ago and sanding those conduit strips to the proper thickness was by far the most tedious part of an otherwise fairly straightforward build. Smoothing out the joints of the wood conduit/plastic sections was another area that takes a bit of finishing work.
Oh, and by the way...nice thighs!!! Earl

Meaning Length x width. How big is the plane.

So how easy or hard was it to use? I've got one sitting in the package as well, waiting for the right project.

I have 4 Xacto razor planes. They work well but are seldom used.

Since the half-round is (probably) birch, I had to really lay into the tool and set the blade so that it cut very thin. I would imagine the softer the material, easier it is to cut.

Or maybe there is some available Evergreen half-round styrene that would be a close fit.
