Default Vintage Estes Corsair 1999 build

Another older kit from Estes, the Corsair kit # 1999. This is a unique design that uses a plastic tail cone that I do not think was used in any other kits. The build went together with no issues, used white glue and Testors cement on the balsa to plastic parts. Built in less than a day, now ready for good ole fashion dope balsa sealer and gloss black paint. Still love the fresh smell of Testors Tube glue in the morning and the smell of balsa sealer.

I see you're using SIG sanding sealer instead of Brodak, just using it up? I just picked up some Brodak, as I'm nearly out of Aero-Gloss.

Brodak is great, but Sig right now is sold at my LHS, that's it. Brodak if thinned a little reminds me of Aerogloss Sanding Sealer. Sig thinned 50/50 reminds me of Aerogloss Balsa Filler.

That tailcone! That's going to make this a tough cloning project.

It has been awhile, with family trip and waiting for better weather, I am almost done with the Corsair. I brushed on a few coats of Sig Balsa Sealer and sprayed multiple lite coats of Krylon Acryli Quik Gloss black.. The canopy decals are still settling in after brushing on decal softener. I will spray Testors dullcote when it arrives, but right now it is on back order.
