Default Bong 2/9/13?

Anyone attending this launch (weather permitting)? It would be my first launch with the club, and I would love to try for my L1 cert if any L2's are gonna be there!

Launch is a go for Saturday, forecast looks decent at best. Have you been to a launch at Bong before? If you choose to fly your L1 I'd be happy to help.

No problem, welcome to the club. A bit of advice if I may - let the weather be a big factor on Saturday. The winter launches are held in a slightly smaller area of the park, with a lot of hiding space for rockets. The winds are forecast to be rather strong for Saturday as of now, but we know how that can change. I know the excitement get's pretty intense, but I'd hate to see you lose your rocket. What are you flying for your L1? Chad.

Cautionary advice duly noted! I was planning on using a LOC I-ROC on an H165R. The rocket is heavy enough that this motor should be ok for a smaller field, I believe? (Rocksim has it at a tad over 500 feet for apogee). Expensive model, so I'd hate to lose it! If it's pretty windy, I may not even want to chance it.

That's a great choice, you should be fine. I'm looking forward to it, that's one of my favorite motors!

Should be a good combo for this time of the year. I am going to try and come down but not sure yet.

The weather of the last day and a half will make recovery a bit more challenging, leave the white birds at home. Good weather for plastic and fiberglass.

Specifically where do we meet up at Bong? Also, will I need to bring my own launching equipment?
