Default Soyuz

There are some nice detailed photos of the booster for the upcoming Soyuz mission on this Spaceflightnow.com page. This particular booster has lots of color in addition to the usual green, orange, and white.

Attractive! In that light, it does look slightly green, but later descriptions of Soyuz and the N1 claim the color is gray. Compared to the transporter, it looks gray, maybe a slight greenish gray.

Speaking of the N1, a friend flew his Koo 1:100 N1 on Friday. Absolutely gorgeous model. He did no sanding. The print resolution is far smoother than anything I’ve seen. He had the Boyce Nike-Hercules with him, and the N1is considerably smoother. I would not even sand the Nq. Besides, I am not sure I’ll live long enough to sand that model. It is intricate!

The model weighs 2 lbs., so the recommended motor is an Enerjet F67. It flew veery well, recovered with a couple grid fins popped off. Apprently the instructions call for rubber cement to attach them, so no damage, they just need to be reglued. Koo molds the N1 pieces in white and gray, and the model looked great unpainted. (I hope he paints it, but from a distance I thought it was painted.

Ed Mitton (Blast From the Past) should post pictures on his blog, and here. I left my phone in my car and did not get any pictures of it.

If you have not seen it kit, here is the website:

Yes, I've read that before as well. If you look from image to image in the link I posted, the color seems to go from green, to olive drab, to straight gray (your monitor may vary). The first pic looks straight up green on my work monitor. The one where it is being pulled out of the building looks dark gray. When photographed with the green locomotives and rail cars, it looks very gray, but the light green gantry makes it look a little more olive drab on my monitor. I wonder if that train is John Deere green and yellow? lol
