Nobody offers them now. MANY years ago (like 15+) PDR offered them, I believe.
Good luck finding one of those. Estee produced more.
The originals show on ebay occasionally. Be prepared for around $100.

There is one currently for sale on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1250006670...76&toolid=10001

This is not my listing, nor do I know the seller.

I have one of the PDR kits that rarely flies because getting a chute in that tiny tube is just short of nightmare stuff. If I were thinking about building one now, it would be an upscale using BT-50 and BT-55. Much easier to stuff a chute in a BT-50.

These kits always seem to go for a pretty decent price tag. It is not one that comes up too very often, but generally several times a year or so.

I remember seeing one on the shelves at the KayBee Toy & Hobby in the Florence Mall in 1979. I was having trouble deciding between the Starlab or the Satellite Interceptor on one buying trip. I chose the SI, then chose the Odyssey on my next buying trip instead of the Starlab. When PDR kitted it 25-30 years later, I jumped on it.

I'm hearing Bowie's "Starman" when I read this thread, except it's "There's a Starlab waiting in the sky"

It's NOT really all that hard to pack a 12" chute in a BT-20.
A lot easier than packing a 24" chute in a BT-50 Astron Drifter or Solar Sailer.

Estes Industries must have read your comment. Estes released a new educational 7 minute and 47 seconds video today on how to fold a parachute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9261CQ0v2E
