Their fin dimensions (and/or fin sheet dimensions) are not given; nor are the dimensions of their cut-out paper shock cord slot covers, which are glued onto the rockets' body tubes. Also:

Given these dimensions (with even just one fin dimension for each rocket--say, their fin root chords), both rockets could easily be replicated, as their body tube lengths *are* given, in the kit instructions. (I know that ASP makes a similar IQSY Tomahawk kit, but the fiber-finned Estes version is simpler.)

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

OK, try this:

No problem, and thank you--and K'Tesh as well--for helping me with this!!! I'll pass the scan along to Semroc so that they can make these as laser-cut fiber fins, for a model rocketry "care package" I'll put together for the school in Eagle. These particular kits would be good "first masking and painting" kits, as their masking requirements for scale appearance are simple.

Is the balsa thickness 1/16 inch?

Thanks!

The fins are fiber ("beveridge board" is its trade name, I believe), and--I think--0.050" thick. 1/16" thick balsa could be used to substitute for it.

Default They're on the way...

Blackshire,

I've sent the fins, as well as the plans and decals for the combo pack, and the Cobra. Give it a couple of days and start checking your mail box.

HTH!

WONDERFUL--Thank You very much! I'll also take the decals to my local FedEx-Kinko's and create PDF scans of them, and send them to Sandman so that everyone can order duplicates of the decals from Excelsior Rocketry.

The IQSY Tomahawk fiber fins set from the Mini-Scale Combo kit is now available from Semroc (part number FES-0874), for $1.35 per set of four laser-cut fins. Yes, this is the Age of Gold of model rocketry!
