The total lack of explanation and just disappearance was most likely the cause of ire.
I'm glad I never subscribed.
I bought my issues in bookstores and hobby shops.
When issues started to be delayed, combined, and just skipped for some months, it spelled "WARNING !" to me.
Thankfully I was not one of those STIFFED.
While I liked the magazine VERY much, what happened to others was awful.

No slander or even related; well documented TRUTH; no matter the reason, people got STIFFED without communication/explanation.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Same here except my father gifted a subscription so I guess we both got shafted.

Fly by Night companies in Model Rocketry have been a scourge throughout it's history.

That doesn't make it right, but that's the sad reality.

Good luck getting anything back in the middle of a two year subscription. I wouldn’t put my elderly father through that.

Near the end of the run, it was so full of pie in the sky manned commercial space flight that still hasn’t seen the light of day, it could have passed for a science fiction mag.

I moved this discussion into its own thread. It had nothing to do with the history of Quest.

Folks, please do NOT go off topic in threads that are located outside of the FreeForAll forum.

Oh, it happened... I really liked the magazine and bought a 3 year subscription a few months before they folded, to support the magazine and help them out... I got *maybe* two issues after I subscribed before they folded, cut and run, and just took off with the money, and made *ZERO EFFORT* to make *anything* right.

I call that being a scumbag thief. If they don't like it, they shouldn't have stole the money. Simple as that. OL J R

I was a new BAR and in that early enthusiasm I signed up for two years' subscription. I never got a single issue, though I was able to get the Launch Missile kit, which was limited to subscribers at least at first, from Semroc.

*sigh*

Stuff from the magazine I've seen online I really liked, so it's well beyond disappointing that they just took the money and ran without any communication at all.
