I suppose I can, simply as a customer, tell them that I'd love to see them start stocking B6-0s again (in this case). It can't hurt.

A8-0s would be better I think

Along with A8-5s. Perfect for two-stage flights at B6-4 Field.

I don't know of the complete selection at Hobby Lobby. Are there any other two stage models there that would not work on an A8-0 or B6-0 but a C6-0 would work in all the models requiring a booster motor? Are there any other saucer type models that would work best with a C6-0 but not as well with a A8-0 or B6-0. In others words if you only had space for one 18mm Booster Engine which one would work best in the products that can use a booster engine.

If your on Face Book post your comment on the Estes Face Book Page.

If I had to choose only ONE 18mm booster motor it would be the B14/B8.
Second place would be the A8-0

The just-refreshed Hobby Lobby selection contains two two-stage models: the little BT-20-based Epic II and the BT-50-based Multi-Roc.

A8-0 isn't recommended for the Multi-Roc (though I have flown mine that way once and got away with it). Flying it C6-0 to B6-6 this past weekend on a big site was just fine (it flew to 806 feet). Typical B6-0 to B6-6 flights on it are to ~675 feet. These are both without the parasite glider, which takes a good chunk of altitude off.

The Epic II is small and would be easily lost when using a C6-0 in the booster (or so it seems to me). For this one an A8-0 would make sense in a moderate field when paired with A8-5. A B6-0 would give it quite a good ride (to A8-5 or B6-6).

So as I say, it seems to me that they got it backward when they dropped B6-0s and kept C6-0s.

The current full lineup of motors from Hobby Lobby is in the first attached picture. The kits are in the second. The one cut off on the upper left is the Mean Machine. The empty hook is marked for the Space Crater egg lofter.

I'm not on Facebook but I could use my wife's account, I suppose, to post there.

I sure hate to see those HL 29mm motors go Only way I will be able to get those in the future where I live is to pay the hazmat fee. I don't have anyone near me that uses motors that big. I'm in the middle of building four 3" upscale models that rely on that motor. I can't do anything about one of them. Guess I will use a 24mm Aerotech reload in it's place but I'm think of clustering the other three models.

Sure makes a case for clustering doesn't it?

Clustering is the way to go as long as you can find a suitable igniter.

Way back in the day I used to fly my Centuri Stiletto minimum diameter two stager on a B6-0 to A8-5. That thing went out of sight every time on that combo. And it was streamer recovery. On a C6 booster I don’t think I ever would have gotten it back. And I had a relatively decent size field there for a few years and I recovered that rocket off the site more than once.

I picked up the Multi-Roc at my local Grabby Lobby tonight along with the Cherokee-E and a couple paks of E12-6 motors.

I inquired about product selection at Hobby Lobby at work today. I was told that the buyer for Hobby Lobby doesn't always go with the recommendations from our sales people. I don't know if Estes recommended the C6-0 or not but if you would like to see the B6-0 instead I would voice your opinion to the Hobby Lobby staff the next time you go to the store.
