Now I'm curious about the PNC.

What's there to be curious about the PNC! It's one of the new Injection molded cones used on many of the E2X models since 2013 when Estes allowed me to design and tool ALL the new fin cans, fins and nose cones.

I'm not a buyer of E2X kits except the Generic for school launches so I'm not familiar with them. I used to by the old heavy BT-56 based ones when they were on clearance to give to kids but haven't done that in a long time. I was just wondering what the nosecone shape is since it's partially covered by the packaging.

The family of parts that John is referring to first appeared in the "ARF" boxed rockets which went along with the accessory boosters (Booster-55 in this case). The Solo nose cone is the one that first appeared, molded in black, in the L.G.M.0095 ARF model. The other BT-55 models from that family include the Red Ryder and the more recent and still available Spirit. This latter model uses the same nose cone in red.

The nose cone (and two others) also come in the Mix-N-Match-55 set (https://estesrockets.com/product/00...ix-n-match-55/).

The fin cans and nose cones have also appeared in E2X models (where one has to glue the fin can together first) in all three sizes (BT-50, BT-55 and BT-60).

Here is the Solo nose cone from a kit purchased earlier today. To return to the original topic...I passed on picking up a Cadet while I was in HL today.

I wonder what flying the Solo with a Booster-55 would be like. Hmmmmmmm....

That's about the same length as a PNC-60AH. Does its profile look much different than a nose cone off of a Citation Patriot or Red Max? It seems a little more slim in the pic.

Oh my, great idea. If you do, buy a double ringer so you still have a Glider after the flight

Yeah, about the same length.....but of course it's for BT-55 as we have been discussing.....

That's about what I had pictured in my head. Too long and slim to be a mid-size downscale of the Max and Patriot families. It is a nice looking cone, though.

It’s 5:1, would be good for an Aerotech Initiator downscale.
