Default Vintage Estes recon rocket

Hi, On the Internet I came across a instructions packet for the Estes Recon-1 Model rocket, however, I cant find out when it was produced, can anyone please help me out?

1446 was a starter set. Before 2008.

I don't believe it was ever in a catalog. The rocket is exclusive to the starter set.

I don't remember ever seeing it in a regular catalog. I guess it's possible it may have been a retail only starter set. It's possible I just don't remember it too.

Ninfinger only has the 1981 Retailer catalog and it isn't in it.
