Thank you for the heads-up! I'm looking forward to seeing your Aero-Hi and the others.

I do my own decals and for all my mini brutes I had taken out the extra pair of legs from the bugs. Insects don't have 8 legs, only spiders!

If you're referring to the stylized "two-finger gesture" logo decal on the Mini Bertha, I think it's a 1970s gesture. While it looks like the World War II-era "V for Victory" gesture, I believe it may be a hippie adoption of that gesture that means either "peace" or "cool"--or perhaps both. (Admittedly, I am just guessing here--having been 5 years old in 1971, and having been born to a mother and father who were born in 1923 and 1919, respectively, I have never felt culturally connected to any contemporary generation--I knew who Herbert Morrison was before I knew who John Lennon was, to give just one example.)

I guessed that too. The stylized rendition seems so odd now.

So have you built my favorite mini-brute yet? I've always loved the Birdie - it is a hoot to fly! I had one back in the seventies when I flew with our rocket club at high school - once we flew in the parking lot (the track infield was being used by the track team or something like that). The Birdie was great fun to fly there, because it went straight up, ejected its motor and came straight back down - it bounced on that rubber nose and went back up about ten feet - hilarious!

My other favorite mini-brute was the Mini Bomarc - I loved the way it looked! Very cool rocket!

Peace. Because the MBs were so groovy. And I say that without a hint of irony. But it can be a bit incongruous to see that decal on a Mini Bomarc!

Its appearance always reminded me of the comic strip character Ziggy (created by Tom Wilson in 1969--they both have that same "period look").
