I know. I actually want gloss, but I can't find the color in gloss.

Hmm. Will glosscote over flat color be glossy enough? I'll test it. TBC

The Scud...more proof that our Germans were better than their Germans. Our Redstone had much greater performance and went into service several years sooner.

Actually, I wouldn't mind trying Krylon gloss Saddle Tan on mine IF I can find a can of the "old formula", but painting it is weeks away.

I've now applied scale-ish, subtle, epoxy fillets and the (8) little card stock doo-hickeys (trim tabs?) to the fins. After the adhesive on the doo-hickey's has cured, I'll rim the doo-hickeys with Mod Podge so the little doo-hickeys won't delaminate.

Yes, I already wish I'd replicated the doo-hickeys with thin basswood or spruce. TBC

This was the first coat of Testors 1954 Light Earth. The can proposes to match to the FS number, but I ageee with Gordy that most of the SS-1C I ever saw were more of a semi-gloss forest green. I had to go with the original spec color since it was wanted as an original spec build. Glosscote over that paint will yield a pretty smooth surface. Light coats and a very fine pigment give a very smooth surface.

Thanks to jeffryjeep I now have the original Estes Scud decal set redrawn along with a more accurate scale set.

As soon as I can I'll try to get them up on my web site.

Here are mine.

They were pre production kits but sale demand was very low so I scrubbed the Scud.

The left is the Soviet the right is the Iraqi version.

The decal on the Iraqi version were for display. Operational rounds had no markings.

That's great news! Thanks to Jeff and Gordy. The Scud is a cool scale model and it is nice is be able to clone it again after all these years.
