BMS (Balsa Machining Service) can make a set of laser cut set of fins from a RocSim file. You can find them here: http://www.balsamachining.com/ .

Thanks for that! Looks like setup charges per fin are $4, so that's a minimum of $24 for a single set of fins for the Icarus. Might have to break out my straight-edge and sharp knife me thinks.

I think it's just $4 per set of fins as a set-up charge. Check with Bill to be sure at BMS. $4 per fin is way too steep to be a real cost per fin.
I just had 37 rocket stands cut from 1/8 compound board (3 parts each, #24 18mm, #13 24mm) and 18 fuselage formers cut from 1/8 inch Lite Ply for a 1/5 scale PICA Spitfire Mk IX, and the total for all that was only $110.

Nope. From the horse's mouth, as it were - there are 8 fin sets listed, each fin requires the setup.

So, that would be 8 x $4, or $32in setup charges for a complete Shrox Icarus fin set, plus the cost of materials and cutting per fin. Not very conducive for one or two sets of fins.

Perhaps there is an enterprising youth who wants to do a run of 10-15 sets and amortize the manufacturing cost? Otherwise, a sharp knife and steady hand will have to suffice.

As I said: $4 per fin SET, not per fin.
I like Bill, but $4 per fin is silly. You could buy a whole sheet of balsa for that and cut enough fins by hand to build lots of Icaruses!
Sorry if I 'confussd' anyone!

As most are want on this forum, I'd like to request a different Shrox design on this thread - specifically the SCRAMCAT, similar to the unopened kit that sold on eBay last night for $71 (plus $13 for shipping).

That kit looks to be easy to clone, unlike some of his other stuff...
