As an option to the Ebay deal, I'm going to suggest that they be sold for double or triple whatever was the original sticker price. Much of what is listed would probably go for double, a few even triple original on most auctions but you could do it all by email.

Most of the people here know what your kits are worth. Is that a good idea or not? Yea or nay guys?

Les, if hat's not good for you just say so.

I'm not as much up on the Estes kit values, but a number of his Centuri items (e.g., the Super kits, the Quasar, Skylab, etc.) would go for a FAIR amount more than double or triple the original price of those kits and I advised Les of that directly a couple days ago.

eBay can be a fickle place at times, but I think the Super kits originally sold for something like $9 or so, but routinely sell for $80 or more. That boxed Quasar kit routinely exceeds $100 on ebay.

I agree and have told Les the same thing - for some kits. Gerry's auction list is a good guide to follow. Since he has the items isted perhaps people interested culd use the guideto make offers.

As a final note, I have a large box of already built model rockets that have become damaged because of the way they were packed and thru the course of time, moved around. If you live near me and would be willing to come and get them; you can have them for free ! Please contact me in advance, by E-mail Please ! so we can pinpoint the day and time of your arrival.

Thanks to all the members who offered me advice and guidance both thru this board and by PM. It was truly appreciated !

Man, I wish I lived closer, there's nothing I enjoy more than a good salvage project.

Default Thanks for the input

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the input guys. It was only after considerable soul searching that I decided to go the E-Bay route. Original idea was just to get rid of the rockets. I haven't touched them for more than a decade. Though someone could put them to better use than I. Selling them as whole collections was unreasonable. The shipping would have been brutal.

I already have four kits listed on E-Bay. The Estes Astron Spaceman, Star Wars Death Star and a Collectors Edition of the Mars Snooper. Also, the Centuri Quasar. From the number of watchers on most of them, there should be some serious sniping at the very end. I will probably sell off the boxed ones first because they are the easiest to find a box for. The larger, longer bagged kits require me to purchase special boxes that cost about $5.00 each. We'll see how it goes. This could take months.

I have had an offer to come and get my "salvage projet" box of rockets. I wrote back but he has not committed to anything as of yet.

Sould any forum member desrie to make me an offer on any of the kits that I have not listed yet, PLEASE do so by E-mail. That can be done thru my profile page. If it's anywhere near Gerrys' auction site figures, I would probably go for it.

Again, much thanks to all of you who have provided me with so much input and assistance.

Les
