If I could get my hands on a mixed dozen of these kits wholesale, I'd use them as door prizes at the OROC outreach launches.

looks like the nose sections of Sky's scale models of Chinese Boosters.

Yes, good point. It would have been better for me to say these "will help enhance demand amongst the fathers of the target age group."

Although it would require transparent plastic fins, another rocket that would fit in perfectly with the Looney Tunes theme would be the British Interplanetary Society's 1946 Megaroc design (see: http://www.bis-space.com/what-we-do/projects/megaroc ). This rocket was depicted in a Bugs Bunny cartoon, in which--if memory serves--it flew him to the Moon; the engine audio at launch sounded just like the extended whooosh! sound of the Me-163 Komet's rocket engine.

One of the "vintage MPC " (according to Hobbylinc) is the Titan. build as static or to fly. Cult TV Man's Hobby Shop is taking reservations now for the kit. Price $31.95 with a list of $34.95. Due out this fall..... here's the link: http://www.culttvmanshop.com/Titan-...ION_p_2504.html

They also are taking preorders for the Vostok:
http://www.culttvmanshop.com/Vostok...ON-_p_2505.html

same pricing....

Might have to get both...

The MPC Titan III-C was the only rocket kit they EVER offered that was worth more than a bucket of cow chips.
If it really comes back, I'll buy a couple-one to build and one to save if they make it look so close to the original it cannot be differentiated.

I saw the Star Trek and KISS kits at Hobbytown USA the other day and was shocked by the size of the boxes compared to the prices. The biggest box was not even the size of an iPad mini (thicker, of course) and cost nearly 30 bucks.

The folks at MPC must be smoking some bad crack and better check into what Semroc gives for 30 bucks....guaranteed to lose money for them.

If Semroc sold their products through hobby shops/hobby distributors the price would be twice as much.

I hope the MPC kits are successful as that will bring more people into the hobby. Then these people can learn about and buy Semroc products.

Initiator001- I don't doubt Semroc products would cost a ton more at the hobby shop, but I blame this ALL on them getting their goods through middlemen 'wholesalers' that add exactly ZERO value to the products they peddle...all they add is COST, which NONE of us need.
EVERYONE other than the middlemen would benefit if hooby shops would buy direct wherever they could.

Anyone that pays $30 for a junky ARTF POS rocket that fits in a little box is just plain nuts, KISS or Looney Tunes stickered or not.
