yeah, you get a lot for your $$, you can pick up a dx6i for $125 which will fly 10 models, and receivers are only $30, servos $10-$20 each, and I run an $8 single cell lipo battery to them, so really only about $50/60 /plane for rocket glider electronics since the battery is shared.

Frank, you do exceptional work! How do you put on your detail lines? Is that with a fine paint pen? As usual, looking forward to the flight video. Joe |

You can get really decent light-duty servos for applications such as this through small glow-power (such as .10 size and lower) for between $5 and $10.
Check out the line of WinKing servos through Tower Hobbies. I have several of their micro-servos in use on throttle on full-sized 61-powered R/C airplanes as well as their full-sized BBMG servos on sport airplanes. They work really well for sport aircraft. They however are NOT accurate enough for precision aerobatic/pattern aircraft. Very reasonable pricing for a good product.

I've been very happy with hitec hs-65 hb and mg servos, the hb are precise and have a lot of speed even when running on direct single cell lipo. I used to use cheaper servos but they just don't have any centering repeatability for my standards and the servos are the cheapest part of the whole setup anyway.

Thank you. The panel lines are fine line sharpie pen put on with rulers and clear triangles as guides. I usually do one side free hand and then measure to make the other side the same. Some times I go with a 3-view for detail guides, and some times I just do what I think make the model look complete. On black models I use silver sharpie pens.

Greatly amused by the "discussion" of relative capabilities of the century-series aircraft. Waiting to see if it devolves further into "my dad can beat up your dad"
Nice job modeling the Voodoo. Just curious why you didn't make the vertical and horizontal tails bigger? (they are in the right place, at the back end, to add stability!) |

Very nice video of those flights !
What size engine are you using ? Looks like it gets to about maybe 300' I still have an Estes "Interceptor E" kit to build. This video has convinced me I may have to greatly increase the wing area on that thing to make it R/C glide recovery instead of with a chute.
