That is the Doorknob. Flew into the nasty clouds created by Operation Hardtack in the South Pacific in 1959. One of my favs, with that Sandia Labs hi-vis paint scheme.

I have the LOC Doorknob. Great kit, very much sport scale. Peter Alway has a page on the real Doorknob somewhere around the ol' internet.

Hoping for the Saturn 1B.

Would REALLY like to see a re-issue of the BT-70 based original K21 Gemini Titan.

I wonder if the pictures on the posters will be models.

Hard to tell from the poster pix but I think the Space Corps poster rocket is the Centurion from the boxed launch set on the table.

That Saturn 1B — the aft end with fins, and the middle and upper “wrap”, are yellow?! Could this imply plastic parts? That would be interesting. The #1969 Saturn V’s LEM Shroud (SLA) certainly will be part of the new 1B. That would make for a MUCH easier build. I still recall the fun of gluing 16 of those fin halves together a couple years ago.

I think so. My impression was of 3D printed parts.

Perhaps 3D printed prototype parts, with injection molded parts for production? We can dream about the possibilities until John B. chimes in ...

John does use 3D printing to prototype stuff...

I thought it interesting to see that Colonizer MAV variant is in a launch or starter set (can’t tell from the image). I was also happy to see that the Green Eggs model looks like it’s going to be released as an individual model, not just in bulk box form (though you can get it singly from eRockets now). I also wonder if that Sidekick that’s on the table is the one Chris Michielssen’s been building in is blog. He said it was a build for Estes.

Also an interesting cast of characters around Vern in that first picture - Ellis Langford, Mary Roberts, Trip Barber, Bill Stine, John Langford. It did make me wonder where Gleda was, though. I hope she’s OK.

The Colonizer looks like a stretched MAV. The Mars Longship’s spherical nose “cone” is a nice variation. I think the Destination Mars series is a good idea - if licensing from SpaceX is an obstacle this is a perfect solution. Same with Estes Space Corps vs. US Space Force, having to pay our own government for product licensing rubs me the wrong way.

Still a bit surprised about the Doorknob sounding rocket - could it be using the Big Daddy nose cone? It’s on my must buy list for sure.

Yeah, I was hit with the same thought.

Kinda hoping she was maybe wandering around somewhere else in the building or, maybe more plausible, happened to be just out of the frame of the shot. Could have even been making the photos is also a happy thought! But, most importantly — and as you commented— hoping she is ok. Can only imagine the bond between the two of them.
