I like the controllers with an armed tone. It reminds me to disarm the controller before I go off and retrieve my rocket. As opposed to a light, which can easily be ignored.

I like the unusual, the off beat, the avant-garde. No 3/4 FNC for me!

The key is held against a spring and pops out on this one when you not holding it in. Although it makes taking pics a challenge, disarming is never a concern.

Cool liftoff but wouldn’t the delays be too short?

Yep, for a cluster of 4 C5-3's you're into shread a chute - zipper a tube territory. However on two C5-3's with two tubes plugged it's pretty good. Would be a cool flight with nice flame.

I didn't realize these Quest Advanced Kits were so light! For a 2" diameter rocket about 32" long it's a decent sized model rocket but only weighs a bit over 6 oz. I ran the Apogee sim file with four C12-8 and four D16-8 and it's pretty good on those ...

Those look like some fun configurations on that kit. Those four D18s are cookin’ it to about Mach .5. Not too bad....

On the Sidewinder video, the description says "C6-5".

I flew three of the new C5-3s yesterday. Two in a 1/200th Saturn V and one in a MAV. Both of these models are marginal off the rod on the C6-3 and go really well on Q-jet C12-4s.

All three boosts were very authoritative and with quite a visible flame from the exhaust. Altimeters aboard showed the 1/200 Saturn V actually didn't go quite as high as it does on a C6-3 (when the winds are low for a straight flight) but the MAV did about 70 feet better on the C5-3.

Both models go considerably higher on the C12-4 than they do on C6-3s.

So for heavier models that are marginal on the C6-3, it looks like the C5-3 is indeed "mission accomplished" but for C impulse competitions, the Q-Jet C12 is the hot ticket by a large margin (and even for lighter models).

Thanks, it’s interesting anything would go higher on a C5 than a C6, since it gets the models moving to higher drag sooner, and it’s only listed as 7.8 n/s.
