I think he said he has Centuri originals of the decals, if he wanted to completely replace the old ones. Sounds like he may be leaning to leaving them as is though. That is a bit of a tough call...not exactly sure which way I would go on it.

Really cool Tim! I'd be tempted to just clearcoat over the original fins to see the printing, as tbzep mentioned.

I actually gave it serious consideration to clear coat it too. It has sort of an interesting reclaimed, distressed wood look to it. I thought about clear coating the original fins, painting the body red, and paint the new fin I had to create on the 2nd stage black. This would not be the first time I've left a vintage rocket naked to show off the printing. I guess if I don't like the clear coat I can always still paint it.

I did decide I'm going to mask off the original decals and maintain them.
