those are great kits with twist lock motor mounts so you could do 18 or 24 mm, I flew by it a lot and it's still hanging up on my ceiling after 30 years

Talk about over-engineered! From left to right: 24mm mount, 18mm mount with "FX" side motor mounts, and a single 18mm mount.

TBC

I enjoy these kits but I think providing an 18mm/FX mount in addition to a separate plain 18 mount was just silly. The user can just fly the 18mm/FX without the FX installed.

Good point. The rocketeer basically has a spare 18mm mount. As for the FX engines, I'm not sure what they actually did or how they were lit. I'm assuming they were just "smokers" without noticeable thrust, but how were they ignited? A separate set of clips and a separate push button on the launch controller?

Yes, the MRC concept II launcher has two independent leads and two buttons. I still have mine but haven’t used it in a while.

You guessed pretty good! Special launch controller with two sets of leads and two firing buttons, as I recall.

Hmmm. Model Rectifier Corporation? I wonder if "rectifier" refers to the component or to the occupation. I'll have to look up the origin of that company name. I still use bridge, full wave, half wave, and SCR rectifiers in my work.

Jeff,

MRC is known mostly for model railroad throttle power supply units (from AC to DC at the rails).

Well made and last nearly forever. I have a Tech II 2400 that's 20+ years old, still chugging along.

MRC was the sole importer of Enya model R/C engines for many years.
I don't know if Enya even exists any longer. I don't think anyone imports them anymore if they do.
Haven't seen/heard of a new one in many years.

MRC also used to have a line of RC equipment, but it left a lot to be desired compared to Futaba/JR/Kraft/Airtronics systems of the same era. Overpriced with less functionality.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !
