Default Custom Tristar question

I found a fin set from an old Custom Tristar kit while cleaning. I also had the body tube and nose cone to a Custom Razor, but that tube seems long. Does anyone know the length of the Tristar tube? I still have a decal, so this project is just waiting to be finished. My last one has been in a tree since 2001.

A couple years back, I bought one of the re-liveried Custom Tristars (now relabeled as the rather abbreviated Galactic Patrol/Rescue/Taxi trio, at only 9.63" long each), but do you think I can find it today? How about a Nope Sandwich with extra Nope Sauce? (cf. my daughter's card game "Exploding Kittens")

So to build this spaceship backwards, I dug out a spare Custom Venture still MIP. The nose cone that the Tristar/Galactic models (and pretty much the whole Custom line) share is 2 9/16" long, and the body tube is 9" long. The kitcard says the rocket is 11.75" long. --Ish.

The Custom Tristar kitcard (I found some images online) says that rocket is 12.75" long. The swept fins extend about an inch aft of the BT-50 body tube.

So I'm *guessing* that the Tristar's BT-50 body tube is 9" long, as well. What, with that being kind of a standard length for Custom. Wait, I just found the instructions on AShasta-Sadie.com ( http://www.ashasta-sadie.com/ ), which lists the main body tube as BT-509. So, that's my SWAG.

Your centi-millimeterage may vary.

Jay's reasoning is good. Thanks to having a spreadsheet that tells me which kits are in which box it was pretty easy for me to find my TriStar kit. And yep, the body tube is 9 inches long.

The analytical circuitry in former TV news reporters' brains dies pretty hard.

--Not yet, apparently.

Bill-
Do you really still have a rocket stuck up in a tree for 19 years ?
I would think all components not plastic would be rotted long ago.

That's where it was the last time I saw it.

I built this Custom Tristar 10 years ago. I no longer have the rocket, but if you have the kit's decal sheet you can probably extrapolate the length of the main BT50 by measuring the long blue decal that goes from the forward end of the BT50 to just forward of the fin. I built a few of them over the years and I do remember that the blue of the decal is nearly impossible to match to any paint color.

Bill,
I have several of these still in the bag. I'll measure a tube in the morning and report back.

Another confirmation of 9".
And yes the decal color is very hard to match.
Maybe a navy blue would work.
I just used what I had.
