If you really need something quickly, DEMAND FedEx shipping.
There is a reason why Pfizer is shipping the vaccine via FedEx. Unless dealing with US Customs, they always arrive on time with minimal chance of damage.

My shipment from Estes has been, according to the tracking info, sitting in Indianapolis for 11 days and counting. I did the online customer service request form and, again according to the USPS, my package does still exist and is still in Indianapolis. So reassuring!

Hit and miss for me. I've got a few packages that I mailed December 3rd that just show they departed the post office with a december 8th update saying they're between destinations and arriving late. Others that show they're sitting in distribution centers. Although not my fault, I refunded one of my customers the priority mail they requested because it's been TWO WEEKS and the system still shows it in the distribution center.
Others show sitting in the distribution center and the next entry is it's out for delivery. Then there are customers in Milwaukee who get their packages the next day. Maybe the system does things different for Semroc kits.....

I have gotten some packages in the past weeks from the Post Office, however, I just realized that they weren't Priority Mail.
So I wonder if it's USPS's Priority Mail service that is overwhelmed.

I ordered two of the LJ-1 and got it three days later.
I'm still waiting on the Orange Bullet from Estes and which I picked up locally the next day. I'm waiting for an item from California and it's been two weeks now. Oh weller!

As a shipper, I've seen a lot of delays, priority 2-3 day is typically taking 4-5 business days now, I have three packages one shipped on the 3rd, it got sent to the wrong post office 30 miles away from plano texas, and has been forwarded, this was on the 9th, and there is no update, and neither post office answers their direct phone numbers and a trace has gotten no call back so I've filed an insurance claim. The other two were sent out two days later and were delivered on the second day to near austin.
Out of 911 packages, I have yet to have one actually go completely missing, this may be the first one. I have ups as a backup for $3.50 more per kit, they are harder on boxes than usps typically but I can put in another pound of reinforcement at no additional charge. Frank |

My order of Saturn 1B kits from AC Supply was up until today "on time" to be delivered today.
Naturally and NOT surprisingly I got a notice it will be delivered late. Like I said before, if you want something delivered on time, everytime, with no damage, use FedEx. All my Christmas shopping for others this year has been done online and shipped FedEx. It's all here.

My experience with FedEx last Christmas season was dismal both with respect to delivery timeliness and care taken (I had one item that was on a truck for FOUR days, out of a FedEx office that's five minutes drive from here). Up until a couple of weeks ago I would expected much better results from USPS. I just had three priority boxes picked up, it will be interesting to see how well they do. I know once something incoming gets to the Seattle distribution office, I'll have it the next day.
But AC Supply just sent the order I made including a Saturn 1b via UPS (there are no motors in this particular order), and I have another item (not rocketry) that is coming up from California by FedEx so I'll get a small sample. The last AC Supply order with motors I made a few months ago sat awaiting acceptance for over a week, and I had an order of Q-Jets off of eBay which were coming from a hobby shop in Idaho also sit for well over a week before being "accepted". I have two incoming USPS packages that have gone into that "arriving late" limbo state - a small eBay buy from Florida (missing now for about a month, though I've started the search process) and a package that left Albuquerque on Monday (probably a gift from my brother-in-law in Mountainair) that was supposed to be here yesterday but has now gotten the dreaded "in transit, arriving late" flag. *sigh*
