I have flown an Apogee II with and A8-0/A8-5 combo. It stages fairly low and you can see the upper stage accelerating afterwards.

That's less than $20 a pak for vintage B14s !

That can be done with 'standard' engines too. Even a cluster of A8's should handle that fine. Won't have the 'umph' of the B14s of course, but a cluster of A8's or B6's or C6's will all loft an egg no problem.

I know those will loft an egg, but a 3xB14 cluster is effectively a 3/4 D42.

Ok guys, I got SCAMMED by ebayer "wareagle".
What he advertised was 5 paks of B14-5.
What he sent was 2paks of B14-5, 2paks of worthless 1/2A6-2, and 1 pak of equally worthless B4-4.
I would have never paid over $50 for this. I paid over $100 shipped.
I told the seller he either needs to remedy this by sending 3 more paks of B14-5 or refunding me $50. If he does not, he will get negative feedback (something I never do) and will file a buyer protection claim with ebay getting all my money back and I'll keep what he sent and stiff him.
