Default Centuri Fighter Fleet - Cloning the F-15

I have embarked in an effort to clone (or semi-clone) the Centuri Fighter Fleet. I am almost done with the F-16. The build thread for the F-16 can be found here . Frank "The Mole" asked on that forum "What's next in the wings to be built?"... Well Frank, it is as the Subject says, it is going to be the Centuri F-15.

And as it is always in my case, I chose the one that has barely been documented... only the instructions can be found on Ye Olde Rocket Plans here ... they are missing the fin patterns and the decals set... This is where Earl Cagle comes in. He has been helping me "behind stage" and has graciously been providing me with scans of the decal sets and the plastic parts. Not much is out there except for a few thread making referenced to the F-15 model.

And so as with the F-16, my F-15 will have 3D printed parts, to include the nose cone, canopy, missile parts, fuel pods, and the jet exhaust.

I got into this hobby and learned that sharing was a big part of it, so I intend on sharing the STL files for those who would like to venture into something similar. But I will warn everyone that my 3D skills are not up to par as with others on this forum, so everyone who would like can venture and experiment with the 3D files.

And so, let the fun begin!!!

rosko_racer, I'm ready to go. I'm starting on Chris F-16 build and plan on doing his F-104 and
F-18 when it comes out.
Are you going to try doing the F-4?
I have a 3D printer and would be very interested in getting a copy of your STL files. How would I go about getting them? I could use the parts on Chris builds.
Thanks for the builds.

Raul-

As requested in your email earlier, attached are the scans of the fiber sheets and the decals. Good luck with the build!

And another decal scan and in the instructions, if you need those.

...and finally a photo of the freshly (then) opened kit contents.

Hi Frank: I will be posting the STL files here probably by the end of this weekend. I may need to rename a few before sharing.

You should do the F-104 next; that one is the most realistic looking one.

Thanks, rosko_racer It's good to hear about the STL will be available. I'm mainly enterested in the fuel pods and 3D printed missile parts. I'm going to use the Estes EST PNC-50E/61299 Plastic Nose Cone that's the cone that came with the Estes Screaming Eagle rocket.

You have stirred up a pretty good response to this thread already.

Frank.

It could be. The top view silhouette for both are similar. But obviously the big differences are the material used on the fins, the NC, and the ordinance... besides the decals. I think the engine intakes are also bigger on the Screaming Eagle. To date I have not seen Estes claim it to be an "update" to the Centuri F-15 but there is a clear resemblance. I would not discard the thought that Estes indeed was inspired on the earlier model to do theirs.
