What could POSSIBLY go wrong with an X-Wing model rocket with a METAL SPIKE in the nose cone ??

Was it comprised of DU (Depleted Uranium) to MAXIMIZE the Stupid-I-Tee ?
Sheesh. Wile E. Coyote with his Ajax/Acme catalog could not come up with a WORSE PLAN.

That MUST have been under that dark era after Damon but before Hobbico...

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I use mine as a paper weight!

Works great for that!

Seems like a reasonable re-purposing.

And if anyone breaks into my house when I’m in my office it can revert to it’s original purpose as a lethal projectile.

Along with my Jarts.

I LIKE Jarts too !
Before toys became "sissified".
You had little "master caster" furnaces for melting REAL LEAD to cast into figurines in that era too.
Spinwelders to melt plastic "Weldin' Rods" to build models.
Mattel Vac-U-forM toys to make plastic canopies, etc.
Teenagers made home-made M80's and Crater-Makers without facing idiotic federal charges from BATFE.
It was a far better era.

Saw an M80 placed under a coffee can blow the can 100' over the top of a telephone pole. No police were called. People just looked at it as the sound of summer.

During my childhood one of the favorite vandal/hooligan/ delinquent activities was blowing mailboxes to SMITHEREENS with real M-80s, M-100s, Cherry Bombs, or Silver Salutes.
Yesss, everyone survived and NOBODY went to jail. I never engaged in that, but did find it incredibly funny.

Yes M-80’s, Cherry Bombs, the Silver Salutes were called Silver Kings. They took out a couple school toilets. No, not by me.

I built a couple modified with 24mm mounts (and some more nose ballast). They flew quite nice on a D12-3 - very popular with the younger crowd.

I built two of those as well. Both crashed on their maiden flight (G64W) . First one the motor pod ejected but the parachute never unfurled, second one the ejection charge never fired. That vacuform body didn't do well with the ground impact

I picked up a basket case Maxi Brute X-Wing kit - the plan is to incorporate the blow molded plastic body with the plywood fins and such I salvaged from the two NCR crashed X-Wings, but it's currently sitting in the 'to do' pile

Not so funny to the mailbox owner. I pulled this stunt on a neighbor’s mailbox and had the misfortune of being seen by an insomniac elderly lady. My father was NOT happy.

Let’s just say I didn’t sit down for a day or so. Plus no allowance for a while as dad had to pay for that mailbox.
